A BIT ABOUT ME:
My name is Mariam Kondyli, I'm a student from Stretford high school. For one of my GCSE options I chose photography since I'm passionate about art and capturing beauty in every day life. I've always loved the look of ambience and surrealism which has been my inspiration for most of my projects. I want to make something that will achieve me a good grade but I mostly don't care about the grade I just want to make and create something beautiful. I want to evoke a sense of nostalgia and a dream like feeling to my viewers , evoking those feelings is something I've admired in photographers for a long time for example, photographers like Saul Leiter , Walker Evans , Clarence John Laughlin and Herbert Bayer Their images have this haunting but beautiful and peaceful presence and this almost alienated view of life for example, In most of Saul Leiter's images he photographs unsuspecting citizens (they don't know they are being photographed) through windows , cars, doors he uses any sort of framing he could possibly find. That gives the photos a fluid motion and so much life and it also makes it seem like Saul is almost stalking them or admiring them from afar. Ive been really inspired by all of these photographers throughout my journey and I cant wait to continue to make more.
